Little Beach Boutique

Brighton festival is in full swing, and the city is bursting with activity from dancing in the glorious Spielgeltent to eating tea and cake in one of the Open Houses. There are street performers, art installations, pop-up performance spaces and weird and wonderful things to do from the moment you wake until well after the sun goes down.

At Little Beach Boutique, we are part of the Open Houses and have registered as an Independent House this year .  The last two weekends have seen a flurry of people looking for something beautifully handmade in Brighton and there is lots to choose from.  We have produced a range of Brighton inspired silk-screened glass exclusively for the festival - dishes, coasters and wall-panels and we have featured artists such as Natasha McCormick, who produces the gorgeous textiles pictured below.

Yesterday we visited some of the Open Houses on the Beyond the Level and Fiveways Trail.  There are some beautiful products being exhibited, and showcase Brighton as an amazing city for creativity and craft.

My favourites were 8 Rosehill Terrace, showing some stunning canvasses by Tina Davies (www.tinadavies.eu), and the Dragonfly House, where I bought a beautiful vase by Alison Milner (www.spellermilnerdesign.co.uk). If you get the chance, try to squeeze in a  few before the festival is over!
